Our club made a financial contribution of $2,000 to support this project, which ultimately led to the assembly of nearly 70,000 medical quality face shields.  We received 1,000 of these shields to distribute to medical facilities that we as a club felt might need them the most.

The following facilities received shields from Yorba Linda Sunrise.

  • 200 shields went to City of Hope Cancer Center in Newport Beach
  • 250 shields went to Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC)
  • 250 shields went to Placentia Linda Hospital
  • 100 shields went to the Brookdale Senior Living and Memory Care center on Imperial Highway
  • 75 shields went to ActivCare Memory Care center on Valley View Ave
  • 50 shields went to Sunrise Assisted Living center on Lakeview Ave
  • 50 shields went to Eastern Star Senior Living center on Bastanchury Road
  • 25 shields went to Yorba Linda Food for Families
    • While YLFFF is not a medical center, we felt that their volunteers who interact with the community in such a critical way with their food distribution efforts required some additional protection the same as those serving in the medical care fields
Thank you to everyone who helped with the assembly of the shields.  This was a wonderful project that started with an idea from a Fullerton Rotarian and it has taken off around the world.
